Marketing localization
Correctly translated is not the same as convincing
A text can be accurate and still read as though it was written for somebody else. I help companies and agencies adapt their marketing to the language and the market of the people they are trying to reach.
I work in Dutch, English and Norwegian, in all six directions. I was born in the Netherlands and I live in Norway, so two of those markets are ones I have actually lived in.

Dominique@framvekst.noWhat convinces this reader?
For the Dutch market I often see people compare prices closely, with plenty of alternatives available. For Norwegian online purchases I notice that trust takes more work, even when the product is good.
For a Norwegian version of a price-led message, it can help to explain earlier who is behind the company and what the customer can expect. Whether that applies depends on your product, your audience and how well known you already are.
That is the kind of judgment I bring. How does your brand sound in the other language? What does this reader need explained? And does the intention of your message survive?
Dutch, English and Norwegian
- Dutch and EnglishDutch → English and English → Dutch
- English and NorwegianEnglish → Norwegian and Norwegian → English
- Dutch and NorwegianDutch → Norwegian and Norwegian → Dutch
We agree which market and audience the text is for. English marketing aimed at a European audience can call for different choices than a Dutch or Norwegian version of the same story.
Want the content to be found as well as read? See my approach to SEO and AI visibility. We agree separately what work that needs.
Working behind the scenes for an agency
I have done a lot of marketing localization for large clients, often through established agencies and under their name. That experience includes work for pharmaceutical companies and for ice cream and clothing brands.
If you work at an agency, we agree how my contribution fits your process. Who gives feedback? Which terms are fixed? And how much room is there to adapt the message rather than mirror it?
You can make a first inquiry without naming the end client. For the job itself we agree what information is needed and how we handle confidential material.
Clear about the work up front
We discuss the material, the languages, the audience and the timing. We also decide how much room there is to depart from the source text, and who reviews the final version.
On that basis we agree on the scope and the fee. That can be a fixed project price or an agreed number of hours. We agree on any extra hours first.
Tell me where your message has to land
Email me what material it concerns, which language you are working from and into, which market it is for, and when you need it. A short description is enough to start.
